- Preparing students to access higher education/technical training
At Abilities Count, we bring extensive experience in assisting families and people with disabilities to navigate the disability benefits application and approval process . Our purpose is simple: we want to help individuals with disabilities get the benefits they justly deserve -- specifically Supplemental Security Income (SSI/SSDI) and Vocational Rehabilitation (VR).
Deborah McFadden is the Founder and President/CEO of Abilites Count.
Having served as the former U.S. Commissioner of Disabilities, being one of the original authors of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), along with being a mother to children with disabilities and having experienced disability personally, I have dedicated both my personal and professional life to fostering equal access and opportunities for the growth and personal success of individuals with disabilities.
I’ve teamed up with CPA/Attorney James Lange and Special Needs Planning Expert Julieanne E. Steinbacher, Esq. to write a financial planning book specifically for the parents of children with disabilities. The book, Retire Secure for Parents of a Child with a Disability, will be published in January of 2024. To download a free digital advanced reader copy today visit disabledchildplanning.com
